Each week the CSPH highlights an upcoming workshop, conference, and other continuing education opportunity pertaining to sexuality, gender, or reproductive justice issues. This week we are highlighting the International Family Violence and Child Victimization Research Conference and The Transgender Lives Conference.

What: The International Family Violence and Child Victimization Research Conference
When: July 13-15, 2014
Where: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Why: At this exhaustive conference on the topic of family violence, hundreds of researchers attend to present new findings or discuss current research. There will be numerous opportunities for attendees to interact both formally and informally with colleagues, as well as interesting activities to encourage learning and discussion of research. Abstracts for papers and panels will be accepted until March 7th, 2014.

What: The Transgender Lives Conference
When: April 26, 2014
Where: Farmington, CT
Why: With the theme “Health and Law”, this conference hopes to focus on the relationships that trans individuals have with themselves and with others. Through workshops regarding self-acceptance, how to be a good ally, and what it’s like to live outside of the binary, the Transgender Lives Conference is sure to be an informative and enlightening experience.
